Brian and I are huge basketball fans. We love our Cleveland Cavaliers and watch almost every game. Every year we watch the NBA all star game on TV and say we wish we were there. So last year we decided we were going to go. When we found out it was going to be in Dallas Texas, it was perfect because my three brothers live there. So we could visit family and see the All Star game. 
Since we are season ticket holders our ticket representative helped us get on the list to be notified when All Star tickets were going on sale. The game was going to be at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium. The day they went on sale we quickly bought four tickets. Even though the stadium holds over 100,000 people we were nervous that it would sell out and we would not even get tickets. Luckily we did get our tickets. 
When we bought our tickets knew we could have travel problems in Cleveland since it was February and we usually get a lot of snow. The morning we left the weather in Cleveland was cold but not much snow. We flew to Atlanta. Once arriving to Atlanta, we found out that the airport was going to be closing in a few hours because I huge winter storm was coming there way. They were not equipped to deal with the snow. Well the night before that storm hit Dallas closing their airport with 12 inches of snow. This was unbelievable. Luckily we were on the last flight out of Atlanta to Dallas for the day. There was some issues of them finding flight attendants working the flight but after a half hour delay we were on the way to the All Star game. 
Dean (my brother) picked us up at the airport. There was snow on the ground there as shown above. We went back to his and his wife's, Karen, house. We went to dinner with family in Texas. It was nice to visit everyone. The next day they took us around downtown Dallas to see all the large poster's of the All-Star's including LeBron James. It was fun. 
On the day of the All-Star game we went down there early to eat before the game. Seeing the stadium was amazing. It is amazing to see how big it really is. Unfortunately it was really cold outside and we had to stand outside for about an hour before we could get in. After going through security, there was entertainment outside to watch before going inside. Ahmaad (Cavs in arena host) was there hosting the pregame entertainment. It was neat to see. We were at the Cavs game when it was announced that he would be the host for the All Star game. 
When we went inside we were even more amazed. It seemed kind of weird having a basketball court on what normally would be a football court. At the same time, it was really cool. We were seated center court on second row in the upper level. The seats were good. Right in front of us was a huge jumbo TV that showed everything on the court in HD. The picture was crystal clear. By watching that you felt you were right there. 
The entertainment at the game was great. Shakira and Alicia Keys performed for us. The players came out dancing and having fun. The East won however Dwayne Wade MVP. That was okay though because I really like D-Wade too. It was a great time. Dean and Karen even had fun and they are not even really into basketball. 
We were so happy to been able attend the 2010 All Star game in Dallas. We were put into the Guinness Book of World Records for the most people to watch a live basketball game. On that night, there was over 108,000 people there. Amazing!
Again, to appreciate the size of the screen - look at the normal sized basketball scoreboard hanging over the court (beneath the big screen). That's how big the screen is at a normal basketball game! The clarity of the screen was amazing too. We were able to take photos of the screen and it was hard to tell that they were taken of a screen and not the real thing!
