Australia Planning

In 3 months with will be in the land down under! It is hard to believe we are going on another big vacation so soon! We are both getting really excited about the trip. This is our dream trip. We have been to some great places but we think this may be the best vacation ever. A place we always wanted to go and we are making it happen.

We have a week in Australia before our cruise. We are staying in a suburb of Sydney (North Ryde) for 3 nights (Dec 29-Jan 1) then after New Years Eve in Sydney Harbor we are flying to Cairns for another 3 nights. In Cairns, we will be going out to the Great Barrier Reef. We feel you cannot go to Australia and not see the Great Barrier Reef. Then we have two more days in Sydney before our cruise sets sail.

We will be renting a car in Sydney. In Australia, you drive on the left side of the road. That should be interesting.

One of the major things we want to do in Sydney is the Bridge Climb. We cannot decide on what time of day (day,evening, or night) to do it but hope to definitely do that. Also we want to see the Opera House and maybe a day trip to Blue Mountains.

I am working on booking a hotel for Cairns, planning on what do while in New Zealand, and applying for our Visas (ETA's) for Australia. I went to the library today and got a book on New Zealand. Brian got me Frommer's Australia 2007 and I found that book helpful. I am going to continue to plan our adventure and will keep everyone updated.

My Scrapbook is Done

My scrapbook is done from Northern Europe and the British Isles. I waited until Brian started school before I started working on it. Once I started, I did finish within 2 weeks. Many of those days I spent several hours working on it. I think it is 80 pages. I am happy it is done. Everyone seems to like it.

Now it is time for focus on Australia and New Zealand. I have a household things to do today so I don't want to get into it much today but starting tomorrow that is my focus. We leave in a little over 3 months! That is scary! I better start working on it. Stay turned for all my adventures in planning. It could be interesting.
